NEW YEAR NEW NEWSLETTER
Welcome to December's Newsletter and with this Newsletter comes the news that we are going to go back in time to 12 months ago, and the monthly Newsletter. We have been going down in numbers over the last year, at the meetings in the Chaplaincy Centre and were wondering whether the change in monthly to two monthly Newsletters had anything to do with that? It might also be because we just have a lot on these days with the Drop In, PFF meetings, Monday meetings, Lifestyle maintenance group there is a lot on each month mind you we shouldn't complain this time 9 years ago we had nothing…. So I suppose it’s a good thing to moan about. Dates of next years meetings will be out soon, but if you haven't been to Monday meetings pop in, its informal and fun, November/December meetings details can be found inside this newsletter….. Enjoy yer read see you inside …………...

LIFESTYLE 1 MAINTANANCE GROUP
The next meeting of the ‘maintenance group’ will be on Tuesday 3rd February 2008 in the village hall in Darnick. In the interests of keeping everyone interested and so that people attending continue to get the benefit we have had a slight refreshing of the meeting as from February 2009, the make up of the meetings will be along the following lines; welcome, relax-short, what's been better, tea break, exercise, topic revision or guest therapist. Everyone attending except for those sending apologies agreed the benefit the meetings gave them and that they should continue after this bit of refreshing………… special word of thanks to Bob for his continued enthusiasm and commitment it very much appreciated and magic………….Bob.
LIFESTYLE 2
Bob Quilietti has been working on a course of relaxation techniques along the similar lines to that of the lifestyle programme, which we had though, might be of benefit to Partners Families and Friends. If you have heard of the benefit this programme has made to the patients involved in the lifestyle programme and would like the chance to be considered for the new course let Gary or Bob know of your interest. Gary can be got on 07906 527 682 and Bob can be got on Gary’s number. Hey lets just say if anyone wants to let us know of there interest, just contact Gary ok……...

PFF BORDERS MEETINGS
Once again this proved as a great success, with everyone in attendance managing to get a quiet blether with others over a cuppa coffee or tea. It was agreed with Christmas coming and probably bad weather January and February (I personally believe we’ll get a heat wave). The next meeting of the PFF will be in March and that the venue should be changed to somewhere on the level, and cheaper tea and coffees!! Full details of dates and venue will be in the newsletter nearer the time……….

TRUE STORY
I was walking with my brother along a little side road when he noticed a dead bird on the roadside. A gentle prod revealed brown wings, stout beak, red legs and feet and a blue ring-all along with a myriad of maggots.
At home we ‘looked up the book’ -the best match we found was a red-legged falcon-very rare-very important-so we took it next day to the birdman, who, through a veil of maggots and aroma felt that this was indeed the rare falcon, and proceeded to autopsy out of sight. We awaited his return restraining thoughts of fame and photographs in the Southern Reporter at last he reappeared, expression tense and pronounced
‘It’s a pigeon!’
Disappointed we demanded ‘Where did such a pigeon come from?’
Said he, ‘From the loft next door!’
See Ya
Jimmy

MONDAY MEETINGS
The next Monday meeting will be held in the chaplaincy centre on Monday 24th November 2 - 4 where we will have the quiz and Indian Heed massages from Leslie Graham. Last months quiz was cancelled at the last minute , as we were very fortunate to be joined by Steve Richardson the new community support worker for the borders area of Scotland, who told us all about his role and what he hopes to be able to help us with.
Hence this month we will have the quiz, if the quiz gets cancelled again due to unforeseen circumstances it has been agreed by the committee (me!) That Gloria should retain the coveted trophy for another 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to remind you after the November meeting there will be no Monday meetings till January 2009 so seasons greetings to you all.
