HI WE’RE BACK WITH A BUMPER SUMMER SPECIAL!!

Yup I am not gonnae chat for long too much more important things for you to read that’s more important than one of my allegedly FUNNY stories!

CASEY JONES IS FOUND WORKING IN BO'NESS

It was a sunny morning as around 37 of us headed off northward on the A7 in search of the Bo’ness and Kinneil steam Railway. Our arrival was slightly dampened by the cry, “Whit dae ye mean there’s nae fid!”

Apparently the kitchen wiz unaware of our trip arriving but accommodate us the did as well as they could so we munched away at a plate of soup before our train journey, and a light lunch when we get back from our trip on board the Chattanooga choo choo!

With a muckle CHOO! CHOO! We were off up to Kinneil where we were to stop as the engine did an interesting 2 point turn to get from the front of the train to move to the back, and take us back to Bo’ness. It is safe to say I think we met the oldest station master in town. We arrived safely back at Bo’ness and jumped on a more modern mode of transport back to the Borders courtesy of Munro's of Jedburgh, I think its safe to say everyone had a grand day out and a really bonnie trip down memory lane……………….

Plans are already taking place for next years annual outing……………………….. But to where shall we travel??????? Who knows well I fur one have nae a clue.

I chose Parkinson’s as my Papa had it; I made £110 from it, and hope it will help you and others in the Borders Branch.

Laura Thomson

(Who is Laura’s’ Papa I hear you ask?)

[Laura’s Papa, was Mr. John Dickman]

‘PPF MEETING…..YES I SAID PPF’

THAT’S

PARKY’S PARTNERS AND FAMILIES

MEETING

If you cast yer mind back to an earlier newsletter, you might remember I was discussing the idea of having a partners and families meeting. Where nobody with Parkinson’s would be in attendance, and it give a chance for partners to get together.

This has been put together and a date and venue set…..  The date is Monday 25th August the venue is The Salmon Inn at the fountain in Galashiels, time 2-4.

Before you all kick off about venue not being right time not right an stuff….this is a first for us trying this out, we don't know how many are interested, how many will be there. The venue might not be right, the time might not be right! LETS JUST GIVE IT A GO……..EH!

The venue. . . . . . .  Galashiels all buses seem to go to gala, plenty of parking in Tesco’s, for car.

The time . . . . . . . . . . 2-4. All our meetings are 2-4, so the thinking was most Parkys might be able to cope independently for a couple of hours at this time of day.

I have arranged for teas and coffees to be available in the room which is located up the stairs past the ladies toilet. I’m not looking for RSVP’s on this I have booked a venue, a time, and sandwiches and teas and coffees its up to you whether you go or not.

The newsletter will keep you posted on this one so that’s MONDAY 25TH AUGUST 2-4 SALMON INN

OVER TO YOU…………………………….!
