I just want to start this newsletter off with a big Thank You…………..WHY?
Well simply this……………. Since launching the group way back in January 2000 we have never been short of people fundraising for us so I think all of you out there deserve a great big thank you, fund-raising for the branch has went all around the world over the years……. From Pero, to Tour de France to Newcastle an the great northern run!! We’ve had fundraisers like coffee mornings, to selling Passports at the Carter Bar to the latest one from Elizabeth Johnstone in Lillieleaf who had a charity name that tune night…. So I’d like to take this opportunity to say a Muckle Big Thank You to everyone over the years and to everyone who raises money for us in the future too…….
In the pic Gary receives a cheque from Mary and John Brown from the recent Coffee Morning in Innerleithen. Also look out for Christopher Johnstone who is running the Great Northern Run who is running for PDS in Newcastle on 20/9. if anyone feels they want to support him he can be got at 01835 870 317. This one is definitely not true !
The scene was a new all facilities supermarket with up and down escalators and a depersonalised voice warning trolley-pushing customers to beware the step off at the end.
This didn't work very well' so a big, strong personable staff member was posted there to help-or indeed rescue, older lady customers but pile-ups still occurred. A very senior manager-you know--- got all the answers---arrived and prepared to pontificate, but the staff member anticipated "this is the grab a granny escalator---see that one---with the smile--this is her fourth time round"

In a closely fought competition the winners for April 2009 were …...the Broons!!!
In the photo the Broons receive the Trophy for the second time!! You all ken what that means …..roll on October!!!!!!!!!

The set up for the day will be , on arrival we remain on the coach for a trip roon the park……….lunch is booked for 1pm followed by your own time to do as you wish departing safari park at 3pm
