MEET YER COMMITTEEEEEEEE

Last month we told you the line up for the new committee this month we’re gonnae introduce to one of them.  Please read below to find out about the groups new chair, Alan Robertson……………………..over to you Alan……….

I was born in Newcastle in 1959, have 3 brothers 1 older, 2 younger, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2003, started with the usual symptoms stiffness, have trouble writing etc. ,I have lived in the borders for years now, lived in Kendal Cumbria for 10 years before that, used to work for myself mainly doing groundwork surfaces, I.e. paving, ,concreting, ,block paving etc, had to give it up approx 4 years ago, was finding I could work for a couple of days then would be as stiff as a board for the rest of the week, tremor was useful though for mixing cement!, I miss my work because it got me out everyday, even though the winters were a struggle you got used to it, I was married to a girl from the borders for 3 years but it didn't work out and was divorced 18 months ago, I have a 9 year old daughter Molly who is the most important thing in my life, I get contact with her every second weekend and after school on a Tues and Thurs until 6pm, which I always look forward to, if it wasn't for molly I don't think I would have got through the past couple of years, she keeps me going.

So now you ken about the main man, so who will we feature in next month’s newsletter then?
