SHORT ‘N SWEET

Well hello there usually I blether on a bit about this and that, but this month space is of a premium so I had better shut up and let you read!!! So enjoy your November Newsletter and all the information it brings.

 

NIKI’S COFFEE MORNING 2010

 

I am well aware of the late notice of this event. This years coffee morning organised by Niki will take place on Saturday 20th November in the Trinity Church High Street Galashiels (across from Iceland). 10.00—12.00

 

The usual cry goes out for volunteers or donations of hame bakin’ fur the cake n candy stall. Anyone wishing to lend a hand should turn up on the Saturday morning. I’ve got ma marigolds looked out so I have.

DROP IN NEWS

 

With the cancellation of the November Drop In, and the Christmas Party being in December, and the annual break at the start of the year. The next Drop In will be on Wednesday 2nd March 2011 in the Chaplaincy Centre 2-4.

Monday Meetings News

 

We had a tremendous turnout for the October meeting, as everybody fought out an extremely close Parky Brain oa the Borders, for the new trophy. The team consisting of Jill Anderson, Steve Richardson, Hugh Campbell and Alan Robertson were victorious winning by ONE point. See pic below. This months meeting is on Monday 29th November 2-4 when we’ll have a bingo day, come along and see our new bingo caller in action, along wi his new bingo machine, everyone is welcome to come along.

2010 CHRISTMAS DINNER

 

This year sees us returning to the Salmon Room at the Buccleuch Arms in St. Boswells on Wednesday 15th December, with dinner kicking off at 1 p.m. If you see the menu below and if you are interested in booking a seat call Gary (Mon—Fri on 01750 22588) with your choice, also we will have a raffle on the day so if you have a donation  you could bring it along on the day or at the Monday meeting in November ………………..

 

Turkey, cranberry croquette, bacon, bread sauce

Salmon, crab risotto, watercress salad

Roasted Mediterranean vegetables and goat’s cheese tart

 

Christmas pudding and brandy sauce

Selection of ice creams

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING TRIP

 

As always we will be returning to Ocean Terminal for Christmas Shopping. This excursion will take place on Tuesday 7th December and pick up points are;

 

9.15 Hawick (morrisons bus stop)

9.30 Selkirk Square

9.45 St. Boswells Bus Station

10 ish Galashiels Fountain

 

We will leave Ocean Terminal 2.30—3ish for the return home. To book a seat on the bus call Gary or Tony with your numbers and pick up point.
