We went, we saw, we participated, we had a ba'!!  What else can I say, OK lots like OK the food wisnae the best, but it wisnae bad, I mean it wis jist mushroom shaped steak, but the haggis neeps n tatties wisnae three bad!!  An the bar staff were notable fur their absence, but it takes mair than that tae dampen Parkys spirits as the entertainment wis great, an the company wis even greater!!!  As they say we came, we ate and we enjoyed wursels.

Then we had a few lads frae Japland!! The Bogie's Close Stompers!!!!!

Who didnae take long in helping us find oor singin'

voices, an get oor dancing shoes on !!!  Any band whi have the bottle to give an audience oa Parky's tambourines and maracas tae play gets ma vote I'll tell ye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  From 'Doon by the Riverside to when the Saints Go Marching in' the audience loved them all so to Brain, Bob, Jim, George an Andy we say thank you, an you cannae shut a Hawick lad up ..... as the end neared Uncle Bert made us a' chuckle wi hos last wee song for the night.

To All our entertainer for giving up yer time for us I'm sure we say 'thank you.' Sorry I meant 'THANK YOU!!!!'  As the clock struck 10 we all leaded on oor merry way hame, fed watered, and throughly entertained!!!!"

As the groups late friend an member Sandy Scott would say, 'if ye didnae enjoy yersel' it's yer ain bl@%y fault!!'

Never a truer word!!

With Alistair ootside piping us in on oor arrival, on a bonnie but nippy nicht!!  He did tell me he wis a bit rusty an need the practice fur the pipe bands up an coming concert for 'help the heroes' charity to be held on the 30th April in Gala!!  A true hero indeed for giving his time up fur us parkys!!  After dinner we introduced oor speaker, come singer, come generally all round entertainer, welcome .................. Uncle Bert MBE!!  Who gave us a coupla tunes ............  A coupla recitations .............. and gave me a smile oan am face when ever I go to B&Q!! Although for the love oa me a' canna mind the full joke!!!

PARKY BRAIN OA THE BORDERS

Pictured in the photo are the winning team of this Aprils' Parky Brain oa the Borders Quiz, due to the absence of a trophy (see Mr. Robertson aboot that!) the winners recieved dodgy easter eggs as a prise!! Congratulations go to Allan Robertson (Kelso), and John and Margaret Shields (Selkirk).  For the record oor Mr Robertson is very close to becoming a member of thar elite group of people who have won the quiz three times and have retined the trophy for GOOD!  Watch out Allan your name could soon be going along beside the elite of ......

Trophy 1 - Bill and Letta Dalglish and daughter Ellis (Hawick)

Trophy 2 - Margaret and John Dickman (Kelso)

Trophy 3 - The Broons (Innerleithen)
