HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

THE DAY THE HATTIE WAN HEADED OVER THE BORDER .....TAE HAWICK!!!!

Well to be honest it wisnae the greatest of days there a slight North Westerly draught!!! It was dry though an a wee bit sunny, and the handsome prince was told it always rained in Hawick!! (sorry am off in papa mode again) The Christmas bash this year was in Hawick Rugby Club, organised by Jill and Dougie, approximately 50 folk turned up and had some lovely food, (I don’t know much about the food but I can vouch for the cakes!!!!!!!!!! Mmmmm) and the entertainment was fair teesh as we were fortunate to be present in the company of Ian Landles an after buffet speaker from Hawick.

The only problem is the Christmas Party went too quickly!! And the afternoon was over before you knew it, but I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Mr and Mrs Anderson for all the work in organising the party. AKA Jill an Dougie!!

I’d like to round up the Christmas with a couple of thank ewez!!!  Firstly thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets we made an amazing £100 on the raffle!! Secondly I was handed some money someone had donated anonymously well it must hae been coz a’ dinnae ken who gave us it!! But whoever you were and I think you were from Hawick , Thank You for your £40 donation.

Not long till Christmas 2012!!!!!!!

Well we hope you all had a stoater oa a New Year, and as Rita said to me,

We hope 2012 is all you wished for and more!”

Though it was 2010 when she told me that!!!  Well that’s the tree doon and decorations awa’ up the loft fur another year. Hope you had a great, no not great howzabout an amazing time over the festive season. We had a very childish Christmas this year. Well we would wouldn’t we what wi wee Olly around fur his first Christmas.

Me? A cannae wait till he gets older, am fair looking forward to Santa’s visit each year now, forgot how much I loved playing wi toys!! Whit dae ye mean grow up Gary!! Ah’ can see me reliving ma childhood again.

Well as always we kick of the year with our AGM, and Hilary said maybe it would be good to let everyone know what is happening at the AGM...well.... Katherine Crawford Scottish Manager for Parky UK, is coming to explain why we need to transfer them some of our funds.

That’s not the only reason the AGM will also let you hear the group’s plans for 2012, and it gives you the chance to suggest activities that might benefit the group. Remember, if you can make it along it would be good to have numbers there in attendance, to listen to what Katherine and the committee have to say. So that’ll be a busy wee meeting on Monday 30th January 2 – 4. Well..... That’s.... our Monday meeting, the Drop In and oor AGM, oh aye how could I forget and oor intrepid heed massager Lesley (I think I’ll phone in sick that day)!! Too much happening!!!!  So please enjoy oor first newsletter of 2012 and we will hopefully see you at the AGM.

Gary wi’ the wee fella

NICE TAE SEE YA TAE SEE YA NICE!!!

The Christmas lunch was great as you get to see people you havenae seen furra while, but unfortunately ye never ever get round to saying hi there is never enough time to go round everybody. But what a joy it was seeing the Mulvey Clan arriving on the Gala mini-bus. Peter an Isobel have been absent for some time and it was great seeing them both.

TESCO – EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS

Well after many attempts and applications we finally got a slot for doing a store collection. I was chuffed tae bits if not amazed!!!! To open up a letter from Parky UK, with a letter enclosed from Tesco giving us the authority to do a collection at their store in Galashiels. The dates we have are Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March.

So it goes without saying we will be looking for volunteers for those 2 dates. The more the merrier, so as some people aren’t there for too long a period of time. Gary is taking names of volunteers, interested? See Gary.

WHAT A WAY TO END THE YEAR!! OR IS IT

WHAT A WAY TO START THE YEAR?

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Where do I start, once upon a time in a rather windy Borders day in the toon oa Hawick there lived twa Cyclists???? jings folks sorry am struggling to get oot oa papa mode this year, I’ll try again.

What a way to end the year indeed, at the Christmas Party Tony and Jill were presented with two cheques for the branch, one for an amazing £859!!!! From two gentlemen from Hawick who raised money by doing a charity cycle in Northern France, absolutely fantastic!! So we ask Colin Paxton and John Hunter to take a BOW!!! Their donation was closely followed with another amazing (ma fav word just now by the way) cheque fur £600 absolutely fan dabby dozy!! Niki raised the money from another Coffee Morning she held in Gala.

Aye tony gets a’ the guid jobs, he has usually just got one lovely lady under his arm, here he is wi’ two now. Tony in picture at Christmas Bash with Jill oor Parky Nurse Specialist receiving cheque from Niki Fitzpatrick owner of Nikis Bar

I have always said we are blessed with so many people fund-raising for the group very fortunate indeed and it never stops leaving me speechless no matter how big or small the donation. It’s just amazing what people will do to raise money to support people living wi’ Parky in the Borders! On behalf of everyone in the group to everyone who organises fund raising activities a muckle big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
