'HOORAY! HOORAY! IT’S THE HOLI HOLI DAYZ!’

ROLL ON THE AUTUMN!!

Every time I bump into members of the ‘Bogie Close Stompers’ in Selkirk, everyone of them asks me the same question, when are you having another one of your nights in Bozellz. As we would love to play at it!

So we are looking at organizing a wee night oot, seeing as we went without a summer trip this year, so watch this space for details, a fish supper evening with the stompers is the line of thought at the moment!

P.S. We are still looking at attending a Scocha concert. We are not looking at organizing one, more thinking along the lines of booking a couple of tables at one of their gigs for those in the group wishing to attend.

That’s another space to look out for! ha-ha

So the Summertime is upon us again, and naw I am no gonnae complain, coz there is nothing to complain aboot!!  Aye, right!!

To quote ma neighbour George, ‘Don’t moan about the bad weather Gary, if we didnae have the bad weather, we couldn’t appreciate the good weather when it arrives!’

Remember this will be the last newsletter till September, that means it must be  summer, and if its summer that means that the meeting in June must have been the last one till September, and if that was the last meeting till September that must mean there will be no Drop Inz till September!!

‘Well Gary you are right on all accounts!!’

‘Jings its no like me!’

Well that last meeting prior to the Summer break was I think to say a meeting to remember as we welcomed Wendy Taylor a singing tutor from Edinburgh who was going to give us all a

I took great comfort when Wendy told us all if you can talk you can sing!! Ya dancer I knew that! I never doubted I could sing! It’s just everyone that hears me sing that disagrees with Wendy’s statement!!

All who attended had a hoot and it was really nice to see some new faces there, here’s hoping you enjoyed yourself enough to pay us a return visit.

Just remember it will no be until September. Yes the next Monday meeting will not be until Monday 24th September 2-4 pm, and that goes for the Drop Ins too. So remember no more meetings or Drop Ins till September the 24th. We will send out a wee reminder in the September Newsletter.

We  have been very fortunate at our last couple of meetings do have excellent speakers, so if you have an idea of an item we could have at our Monday meetings give Gary a call on 01750 22588 with your ideas.

‘THOSE YOUNG ONES ARE GROWING’

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Well Nachos Fiesta in Galashiels is certainly having busier times on one Tuesday evening each month, as the young parkys in the Borders meet for a chinwag over a meal and a drink. It was great to see people who were at the first young parkys chin wag event, returning!

It was an even greater, when a couple of newcomers arrived, tremendous!!!!

Everyone who came along, realised that we all had one thing in common we were all young and had Parkinson’s and are living in the Scottish Borders!!

Okay so that’s three!!! One thing I would like to say on the young parky subject is that I know we have the Monday meetings but that can be a very scary experience for young people. Which I think explains the amount of interest this chin wag is having so if you’re a

young couple living with Parky in the Borders, and would like to meet other young ones, or you would like to pop along yersael, get doon to Nachos Fiesta, in the High Street in Galashiels.

The chin wag starts aboot 6 pm, oh aye and parking is free after 530 behind Iceland we have been finishing around 8 ish  or whenever we have all blethered enough!!

Remember this is all free as we have received funding to hold these get togethers.

The next one will be held on Tuesday 14th August 6pm

Hopefully we will see you there!!

CHUCKLE TIME!

While out for a walk I saw a guy putting a notice on his gate saying,

BEWARE OF BUDGIE!’

I said to him that’s no going to keep folk out, how’s that a deterrent?

He replied, ‘He knows how to whistle the Rottweiler!!’
