‘So have ye heard that phrase before?’
Well for those that attended last month’s meeting it took on a
whole new meaning!
As the Borders Branch welcomed Mo Morgan to the Chaplaincy
Centre.
I remember standing outside the Chaplaincy prior to the meeting
and someone saying, ‘Well I’ll do the teas and coffees coz ah
dinnae dae dancin’!’
‘Oh you don’t do ye, watch this space!’
Seriously though what a breath of fresh air Mo was, her energy
and enthusiasm could easily be mistaken as her bein’ classed as
aff her heed! Mo and her Dancing 4 Parkinsons session has a more
personal meaning for her as her mother had been diagnosed with
Parkinsons a few years earlier. Her method of dance with the
sounds to go with it........
|
It is her hard to put into words the whole dance experience that
Monday afternoon, she even had Tony trying to get Gloria up
furra burrell roon the hall!!! It was a terrific afternoon last
month we all learned a lot especially being reminded of the fun
word in Parky! All I can add is nobody present on the day, (and
it was well attended ........ thank you) nobody there left
without a smile on their faces and a bounce in their
step............
.................. It was made all the better when on cue half
way through oor Maisie Hogarth made a guest appearance.......
(even if it was to complain to Gary, HA HA HA! Complain to me
anytime Maisie! Yer still no getting yer money back!!)
To close this report from the meeting if you thought Mo an’ her
dancing was guid wait till yer hear this month’s guest Wendy an
her Singing Therapy!!!
‘Whit’s that ye don’t dae singin’?? Oh ye don’t
dae ye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’

A STITCH IN TIME
LESS HASTE MAIR SPEED!
‘Have ye fixed that sink
yet?’
‘I’ll get it later Hil!’
|
|
Never have these phrases been more appropriate than in the
Hattie/Duncanson household last month!!!
Our sink plug hole is one of them push the lever down and the plug
comes up, you know the sort? Well ours was broke so I just left it
off as it was easier for using, ‘Och I’ll get it tomorrow!’ That was
until two days ago, I had an appointment with dentist, as usual
Hattie was running late, I ran into bathroom, toothpaste on the
brush, false teeth out what did I do? I bloomin well dropped ma
false teeth and watched them getting washed doon the open plughole,
my panicking grabs were in vain!!!!
Gary are you ready?
Yer gonnae be late!!
Och hit, hiddady i’b dlopped ma teef
doon the shlug hole!
OMG! What ye gonnae dae?
Hebab shoe er! Hebab shoe r!
Het me a hetal hebab shoe r!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeez
Oh. A metal Kebab skewer!
After a frantic 2 which seemed like 10 minutes of hooking got
it! and hooking lost it! I recovered my trusty teeth from the plug
hole!!
For Gary, HERE ENDETH THE LESSON!!

CALLING ALL YOUNG PARKYS IN THE BORDERS |
|
|
|||
We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. |
|||||
Last month on 5th June in Nachos Fiesta in Galashiels we
saw history being made!!! As we had our first meeting of the Young
Parkys in the Borders. It is important to remember the younger ones
have more challenges to take on, such as mortgages to pay, families
to bring up, employment issues.
So it can be very beneficial to meet other young Parkys to
see and hear how they handle Parky and the challenges it brings.
Those there last month, I counted half a dozen of us (yes I still
Class masel’ as young!! An ma countins still no getting any better),
loved the chance to chat about these issues and just well the chance
to chat. Even better when it is over a nice meal!!
For which you dinnae have to pay as we have funding for every
meet. It is maybe unfair to call it a meeting don’t be put off by
the phrase meeting we mean that in the loosest way!! It is just a
get together over a feed and a beer if you’re no driving!!
All those in Nachos Fiesta last month agreed that a repeat of this
event was a must, so that way, maybe others will benefit from the
chit chat and the free tea.
So we have booked Nachos Fiesta, High Street, Galashiels, for
Tuesday 10th July 6’ish till 8’ish

If you are interested and wish to find out more (although there’s
not much else to say), just give Gary a call to let him know of your

CHANGE OF DATE!
‘Last month we told about Agnes Waldieez trek across the borders to
raise money for her trek across Jordan to raise money for Research
into a cure for Parkinson’s,’ Phew! That’s no half a mouthful!!
Well due to circumstances out with ma control (which means I didnae
make a mistake for once!) the date has changed,
Agnes will now be walking from Longformacus to Melrose on the
Southern Upland Way on Sunday
July 8th not July 1st as first published
so that’s Agnes Waldie,
Longformacus to Melrose, SUNDAY 8TH JULY!!
If you would like to sponsor Agnes you can by visiting
www.justgiving.com/Agnes-Waldie or send donations to Agnes
Waldie, Tower Road, Darnick, Melrose TD6 9AX, cheques should be made
