JINGS APRIL ALREADY

(AN IT’S STILL SNOWIN’)!

NEXT MONDAY MEETING

The next Monday meeting will be 29th April 2-4 in the chaplaincy centre at the BGH. This month is a social event; recently we have had a lot of new faces, but not much time to get to know each other so this month we will be having a blether meeting.

Don’t worry our specialist nurse Jill will still be there, as will oor resident therapist Lesley. We will have tea and coffee as usual, thanks to Maybole for last months hame baking......... An I missed it too.

So come along for a chat and a cuppa that’s Monday 29th April 2013, 2pm – 4pm just drop in anytime between them, look forward to seeing you there.

I hope am not repeating masel!!  But BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR it’s bloomin freezing, Aye STILL!!  I bet the daffodils are wondering what is happening , they will be used to opening up to the sunshine, well not this year matey!

Well maybe it’s not sunny out there but it was pretty sunny at last month’s meeting, as Agnes Waldie treated us all to a show of her photos from her recent and latest TREK, (I wonder if Agnes ever goes into space it might be called a STAR TREK!.......... get it? Oh I crack masel up sometimes.

Apologies for not managing to the meeting Agnes as I was otherwise engaged celebrating Hilary’s 30th Birthday, in some tropical island. As this newsletter drops through your letter box we will be in the midst of awareness week 2013.  We don’t really have anything planned for the group, but maybe if we start now as a group we might come up with some way of raising awareness of Parkinson’s, if any of you have any ideas share your ideas with one of the committee.

Well enjoy yer cup oa tea an yer newsletter...........

HE’S BEHIND YOU!

We have a newsletter scoop/exclusive now, Jennifer Brown of Innerleithen fame, has been very busy behind the scenes working away for the group. Jennifer has managed to book a number of seats for the Pantomime in Edinburgh this December,

‘No she hasn’t!’

Oh yes she has!’

‘No she..............

Well I bet you all could read me like a book, and were waiting for that panto classic to pop up in this article somewhere.....

‘Yes you were!’

Anyway we will give you full details in next month’s newsletter. A big thank you goes to Jennifer for her hard work getting this organised.

ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO FOR THE STOMPERS

Well hopefully in next month’s newsletter you will be reading about our successful night with the Bogie Close Stompers. All systems are green for go for oor fish supper night, followed by some entertainment from the Bogie Close Stompers.

The evening is on Wednesday 17th April 6 for 6.30 start followed by the Stompers at approximately 7.30. There are still seats available if you fancy coming along also if you require assistance with transport get in touch and we will see if we can help out.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Young Parky’s Meeting

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

The heading to this article, I am led to believe is misleading; it says young Parky’s an I got told that am no young anymore!!

The heading does state Young Parky’s but what is a Young Parky?  Well I looked at masel in the mirror this morning and the person looking back at me was a handsome no not young man, then I looked again and it wasnae an old man looking back at me, it was an inbetweeny sort oa guy looking back at me.

So where does that put me,

‘In a room with the key thrown away .............. Oh ha-ha!’

Okay if I can be serious for a minute............... ok you’re right I can’t be serious for a minute!

So what do we mean when we say Young Parky’s Meet? If you’re of working age and think you would benefit from chatting to other people who have the same challenges as yourself, get yersel along to the next meeting.

Well hopefully that is that cleared up????????

So if you fancy coming along to meet with an chat to other Young Parky’s and sort oa Young Parky’s, the next meet will be Tuesday 11th June  6.00 to 6.30ish, at Nachos Fiesta, on the High Street in Galashiels.

Committee Meeting

Calling all committee members just to let you know that last month’s meeting which was cancelled due to there being too much white stuff on the ground has been rescheduled for Tuesday 23rd April in the Chaplaincy Centre at the BGH. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT THE GROUP AND JOIN THE COMMITTEE, JUST MAKE YOUR INTEREST KNOWN TO US.
