Committee Meeting Reminder

Just a quick reminder to all committee members, remember there will be a committee meeting at 1pm in the chaplaincy on Monday 28th January, that’s before the AGM. I know you don’t need reminding but there you go at least I’ve no excuse for being late.

Traffic Update

Well hopefully you remember the adventures of Gary and his car from last year leaving it unlocked. Going into the wrong car. Well it appears there are too many honest people here in the Borders. Either that or being brought up in Maryhill in Glasgow, has made me very trustworthy, but on a recent visit to the Coop in Selkirk, I was on my way out  and heading along the High Street to ma parked car, as I neared my car I swore under ma breath coz I’d gone and left the lights on!! I’ll not tell you what I said under ma breath as I went to get into the car and discovered not only had I left my lights on for ten minutes while I went shopping, but I’d only gone and left the engine running too!! Seriously ma Parky’s getting worse by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year’ to every one of you! From us here at your Borders Parky's Newsletter!!

Aye it’s a lovely time oa year, when you put up yon tree wi’ all its decor and the lights, cannae forget the lights!  But ain’t it brill to get the trees down an the place gutted after the festivities, back to normality! Normality? What’s that then?

I suppose the January Newsletter can count as being under the normality category. So if yer sittin’ comfortably like, we’ll begin the first Newsletter of twa thoosan an thirteen.

Well I think its safe to say that we will be having an action packed year in the Borders Branch, and what better way to kick it off than by having oor A.G.M.!! This years AGM will be held on Monday 28th January 2013 at 2-4, in the Chaplaincy. Not only will we have our AGM but Lesley will be there doing her heed massages! And we will also have tea/coffee an bikkys and a chance furra right wee natter!  So we hope to see you there.

Yup it goes wi’oot saying, they say the number thirteen is unlucky, but no fur us as we enter our thirteenth year as a support group for Parky’s in the Scottish Borders.  How lucky are we to have each other.

Well enjoy your newsletter and as Rita would say we hope 2013 brings all you dream of and more!!! Happy New Year!!

Piece of Cake Anyone?

Prior to the November meeting Gary received a phone call from a young lady who went by the name of Ann Taylor. She was wondering if she baked a birthday cake and gave it to me would I give it to her dad at the meeting to help her dad celebrate his 70th birthday. I said it would be a pleasure but I couldnae guarantee the cake all being there due to ma sweet tooth!!

But I managed, to keep ma grubby paws off it!! So we had a wee bit oa cake each, to help Tony celebrate his birthday. Little did we know that Gloria unaware of her daughters phone call, had brought in birthday cake for everyone to get a bit to celebrate her hubbys birthday, I tell ye ma dentist wisnae too chuffed!!

Many Happy Returns Tony

Personally I cannae wait till he’s 71!!! Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Well I wish it could be Christmas everydayyyyy!

Well just fewer than 50 folk turned up at the Buccleuch in Bozells, on a Wednesday afternoon in December for the groups Christmas Lunch, and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Can the Committee say thank you to everyone who brought prizes for the raffle as we sold oota tickets!!

But it didnae dampen everyone’s spirits. And a big thank you to Peter from Newcastleton who came along played guitar and sang us a coupla tunes.

We do hope everyone enjoyed their day; it seemed so any way, an thanks to so many for turning up.
