SUMMER TIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY

 

 

NEXT MONDAY MEETING

           

The next............ Oh aye remember bus trip is on 29th July ...........where was I?  Oh yes , the next Monday meeting will be on Monday 24th June, our last for a coupla months, so please come along even if it’s for the first time, it will be great to see you. We will still have oor Parky nurse Jill there if you’re having any problems, and oor resident heed massager Lesley will be there too. As will teas and coffees.

 

I am reluctant to type this next bit coz I don’t want the person to feel she has to bring some hame baking with her to every meeting, Mabel thank you for the hame baking last month!!

 

So hopefully see you Monday 24th June in the chaplaincy centre at the BGH. We will be there and it would be great to see you too.

Greetings everyone, what can I say aboot the weather! Nothing I just hope it lasts, you’ll no catch me complaining I can assure you.

 

So how many of you noticed ma deliberate mistake in last month’s newsletter? Oh aye not many of you!! Shall I tell you the article in last month’s newsletter headed ‘July 2013 Bus Trip to North Berwick.’

Well I only gone an forgot tae put in the date in July; the trip is scheduled to take place on Monday 29th July!! THAT’S MONDAY 29TH JULY!!

 

There are still seats available but we need to know by FRIDAY 28TH JUNE. If you would like to go to the seaside for a few hours get in touch with Gary by using the details on the newsletter. So when’s the trip Gary?  The trip to North Berwick will be on Monday 29th July, and we need to know if you would like to go by Friday 28th June.

 

 

Thank You! Yes, thanks to everyone who came along to the last Monday meeting an some more new faces too.  If you were there for the first time we hope you want to come back.  I always enjoy the getting to know you, and the chit chat, ye cannae whack it!

Oh jings I nearly forgot this is the last newsletter before the Summer break. So we’ll see you at the Bus Trip if you are going, mind and get in touch tae book yer seat, an we’ll see you back again in September. Have a nice Summer whatever you’re up tae!!

 

Me? What am I doing? Am aff tae the pub!! Well it is Selkirk Common Riding week, so ma doctor prescribed me a drink or two!!!!!  So nae meetings until Monday 30th September. See you then.

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

THANK YOU NUMERO UNO

I would like to give a big humongous thank you, as we have now filled the post of treasurer, thank you to Dave Brydon from Gala, who has offered to become group treasurer. This is not an easy task coz it involves working closely wi’ Gary, seriously though many thanks to Dave for coming forward.

 

 

THANK YOU NUMERO DOZE

I just want to say thank you to our outgoing treasurer Tony Taylor. Tony has done the task of treasurer for the last 7 years and done it well. Tony deserves his retirement after working wi me for 7 years! Aye that’s right Norman, 7 years!! That’s 7 years I have had to keep a straight face, an not laff at any of Tony’s jokes 7years! I would like to give tony a heartfelt thanks for all his hard work for the group, and the even harder job oa working wi that Gary wan!

Aye a’ know Gloria thank you to you too, for all your hard work, working for the treasury!  So a big thank you from the group to you both.

NORTH BERWICK BUS TRIP

 

 

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

INFORMATION DAY IN KELSO

Just a reminder that Parkinson’s UK are holding an information day at Springwood Hall, in the Showground, on Tuesday 18th June. If you give me a minute I’ll dig oot the Agenda right got it

 

There will be tea/coffee served from 10.30, it all starts at 11 o’clock, and in the morning they have a talk by Barbara Williams Director of support and local groups, also we have Katherine Crawford Scottish Manager giving you an update on what’s happening in Scotland. There will be an update on Welfare Benefits and a bit about PIP.

 

They will have lunch around half twelve (this  is provided by Parkinson’s UK)

 

After lunch there will be a view from a young Parky, followed by information for Carers in the Borders. All finishing around 2.45 with coffee/tea available before you go.

 

 

 

 

 

It will cost you nothing, not a penny, oh if I can just add there is plenty of time to have a chat with all staff there. So that’s Tuesday 18th June 11 till 2.45, hope to see you there then.

                 

PANTO UPDATE

 

I know it’s not till December, ok Wednesday 4th December.  Its Peter Pan the Panto an it will cost ye nowt, but we do need your names if you would like to go. It is the afternoon show an we will have lunch before the Panto, so let us know if you want to book seats to go to the Kings Theatre in Embra! There is plenty of room for walking frames, etc on the bus.
