JINGS MARCH ALREADY

(AN IT’S STILL SNOWIN’)!

NEXT MONDAY MEETING

The next Monday meeting will be held on Monday 25th March, in the Chaplaincy Centre from 2 till 4. We are chuffed tae bits to have Agnes Waldie along who is going to do a slide show on her recent fundraising expedition to ‘trek across Jordan.’

Agnes has been on 2 previous treks if my memory is serving me right. So she has had a lot of experience to chat to us about and I’m sure has some amazing slides to show us, and stories to tell.

Also at this meeting we will have ‘Indian heed massages’ from Lesley, Jill oor Parky Nurse will be there, all that washed down with a cup oa tea or coffee. The perfect ingredients for a good meeting to come along to and meet and chat to fellow Parky’s.

We look forward to seeing you there on Monday 25th March 2 o’clock till 4 o’clock.

Yeah, winters no quite away! As the weather constantly reminds us. Well what can I say about last month’s meeting, ok apart from thanks Bob, thanks Lesley, thanks Jill, oh aye an a particularly a big thanks to everyone who attended. Last month we had the biggest attendance for some time so thank you very much. It’s great to have your support.

Well we have a particularly interesting guest coming along to talk to the group this month........ As we welcome Agnes Waldie who is going to do a slide show on her recent ‘trek across Jordan.’ More details in Newsletter.

What more has been happening?????????? In this newsletter we have Stompers News, some bench news, young Parky news, an owt else ah can fit in!! So hopefully the kettle has been boiled, yer cuppa tea made so you can sit doon an enjoy yer newsletter.

YOUNG PARKYS GIG

The April meeting of the Young Parky’s in the group will be held on Tuesday 9th April from 6.00/6.30 at Nachos Fiesta, High Street Galashiels, just along road from Iceland.

This is turning out to be quite a successful night, which is giving those with attending a chance of sharing experiences and advice on their experiences of living with Parky.

SITUATIONS STILL VACANT

We still have a vacancy for Treasurer for the Group, as our Tony our present treasurer retired from the roll in January. If you are thinking about helping out and have any questions you can have a chat with either Tony or Gary at the meetings, or you can get in touch with Gina by calling her on 08442 253 725. Or email her at gallan@parkinsons.org.uk

Bench News

With it being five years since the passing of Sister Maria Drover the group would like to remember Sister Drover in some way, and has organised a bench in her name to be positioned in the Memorial Garden she had a hand in building for Dr. Graham, this can be found on the area between the Day Hospital and the Chaplaincy Centre, very appropriate we feel.

We hope to have the bench delivered within the next couple of months, watch your newsletter for details on its delivery.
