NEXT MONDAY MEETING

           

This month’s meeting will be held on Monday 27th May 2-4, This month we welcome Emma Wilson who is coming along to get us up to date on what’s happening on the fund-raising side, she will also be informing us about a event coming up in October in Kelso titled

‘Strictly Come Prancing!’

Bet you are a wee bit curious!! I ken am ur.

There will also be tea an bikkies n stuff. Yup Lesley will be doing Indian Heed massages also, and Jill will be there too.

Once again we thank MABEL Bell frae Hume, for her hame baking, (can I tell you reader’s sumfin. I have known MABEL  fur a couple years now  and at last months meeting I found out for the first time that I’ve been spelling her name wrong!!!)

How do ye spell it again M-A-B-E-L right MABEL a’ think ah’ve got it sussed, many apologies MABEL. As I wiz saying the Monday meeting, aye I’ve remembered  whit a wiz gonnae write, it’s great seeing the new faces joining us on a Monday fingers crossed you will return and we have nae put you off.

‘WORLD PARKINSON’S CONFERENCE’

 

Well what a scoop we have for you all the Borders Branch has got a representative at this year’s World Parky’s Conference!!  Rita Thomson frae Innerleithen was successful in her application to attend the conference from Parkinson’s UK. Congratulations Rita we look forward to hearing all about this event later in the year.

 

 

YOUNG PARKYS GIG FOR JUNE CANCELLED!!

Well it’s no really cancelled, more put on hold for the moment!! The gathering scheduled for nachos fiesta on Tuesday 11th June has been postponed at mo due to the fact Nachos has closed doon!!

An alternative venue is being sought and Gary will get in touch with regular attendees by phone of new date and venue. If you have not been before and would like to be informed of new date and venue leave a message for Gary with yer name and phone number!

 

NIKIS FUNDRAISER

Just to give you plenty of notice Niki has booked the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels for Friday 6th September George Inglis and Rocking Horse will be playing, also Funky Disco will be there too, there will be a lite buffet on the night all starting at 7.30, there’s another date for yer diary.

 

 

 

 

 


PARKINSON’S UK INFORMATION DAY

Last year if you cast yer mind back Parkinson’s UK held an information day at the showground’s in Kelso, well they must have enjoyed coming to the borders!! Coz this June they’re back!

Parky's UK will be holding another information day this year. The date will be Tuesday 18th June again at springwood hall, Kelso inside the show grounds. The day will run from 11 – 3 and lunch will be provided. So if you fancy coming along there will be representatives from Parky's UK and some speakers, plus it’ll gie ye a chance tae hae a right wee blether, put that date in yer diary Tuesday 18th June 11 a.m.

Anyone with transport issues please get in touch and we will endeavour to help out.

‘HE’S BEHIND YOU!!!      JULY 2013 BUS TRIP TO

    PANTO NEWS’                NORTH BERWICK 

 

 

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

We have an update on the information we gave you in last month’s newsletter. As we said Jennifer has been a busy bee and we can confirm we have 30 seats to fill which have been provisionally booked for us. The date booked is Wednesday 4th December and it is the 2 pm show. The venue is the Kings in Edinburgh, and the panto is Peter Pan. We are also going to organise lunch locally and run a bus (sorry Tony a coach!!) up. But we need to confirm these 30 seats with the Kings as soon as possible. So if you fancy a trip to the panto get your name down by contacting Gary by the usual way. Please when leaving your name to book a seat let us know if you will be bringing a wheelchair. Remember we need to confirm this seating as soon as possible, so dinnae delay book yer seat today!!  This is a funded trip so it will nae cost ye a penny!!

 

 

 

 

We have decided to hold a summer trip this year. We are planning a trip out to North Berwick, this year we are going to try to free more time, with that in mind we are nae organising a lunch which will hopefully free more time for you to wander, window shop build sandcastles or enter the Parky’s Open Championship. (Can current holder Tony Taylor retain the title he won on our last visit to North Berwick? We will be picking up at St. Boswells 9.15 and then Galashiels 9.30 departing from North Berwick 1500 hours. To reserve yersel a seat get in touch with Gary, you know how!

 

Hopefully the journey won’t be too long and the weather will be scorching. Aye who am a’ kidding!!!
