CHRISTMAS LUNCH AN RAFFLE

PETER PAN THE PANTO!!

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

I have to say I think the grub at the Buccleuch was yummy, last year it was yummy, but not as yummy as this year’s yummy meal so we had to give it not just a yummy but a yummy yummy! Are ye still with me here? Okay what am trying to say it was very good.

We had the raffle which consisted of a Hamper containing donations handed in by everyone there on the day so thank you everyone. We also had a book signed by Ian Rankin which was donated by Anne Taylor daughter of Tony and Gloria Taylor, aye that’s the same Tony who stepped down as treasurer a year ago!! We tried a new format for the raffle this year, and can I just say a big thank you for everyone who entered the raffle by making a donation. We raised a staggering £209 in the raffle so thank you to you all. And the lucky recipient of the hamper was Scott Waldie frae Darnick, and Jill Anderson oor Nurse Specialist won the Ian Rankin book. Congratulations to them both and to everyone there on the day it was a great way to start the Christmas period.

Can I just say a couple more and thank yooz one to the Health board at the BGH for their donation towards the Christmas gig, and a muckle Thanks to Jill for fighting like mad to get it from them!!

All those who attended I think it’s safe to say had a guid time, oh yes you did!!! Whit d’ye mean ‘awe no ye didnae!!’

We had a rather quick pit stop fur chish an fips on the way up, at the Juniper Lea on the A68 who were lovely hosts. I had a quiet chuckle tae masesl’ as we tried to get 36 oa us off the bus, sitting’ doon, eaten, coffee/tea drunk and back on the bus in 31 minutes!! We made this with 30 seconds to spare!! Well done to all concerned, I’ve never seen so many doggy bags in ma life. With the Panto starting at 2, we arrived at the Kings in Embra, at 4 mins from curtain up, and the staff managed to get us all in an seated with 15 secs to spare!! O.M.G. timed too perfection as Gary wiped the sweat frae his brow, an his shake steadied tae a mild tremor. An yes if I can be serious just fur 5 seconds at least it was a grand afternoon. Tiring yes but grand all the same!!

This year’s Panto is Aladdin, and tickets go on sale 3rd February, we will try and get them booked for Wednesday 3rd December, and hopefully try and get the crackin seats that Jennifer managed to get fur us last year, good shout Jennifer, thank you, as  the ones we had were  spot on!! Watch future newsletter for details on 2014 Panto trip. Oh aye an if ye wid like to go, all a can say is watch fur details an book early!!
