Well summertime is oa-fish-ally hear, I think we hae probably had mair sunshine than we had in the whole of last year!! So welcome to you all, this will be the last time you hear my dulcet tones, this being the last newsletter till September an all.

Last month’s Monday meeting was well attended and gave us all a chance to have a wee blether an a cuppa. As it fell on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday, can we just say thanks to those of you who took the time to attend, remember there are nae mair Monday meetings at the BGH till September as June Monday meeting is being replaced with our annual outing ……………….. which is held once a year. For this one we head to North Berwick.

Can we just wish you a happy hot summer; an we will hopefully catch you in September. Enjoy your June newsletter.

Three women were about to be executed. One was a brunette, one a red head, and the other a blond.

The guard brought the first woman, the brunette, forward and the executioner asked if she had any last requests. She said no and the executioner shouted.. Ready …. Aim!! And suddenly the brunette yelled, “Earthquake!”

Everyone was startled and looked around. She escaped. So they brought the redhead and asked if she had any last requests. She said no, and the executioner shouted … Ready … Aim…! And suddenly the redhead yelled, “Tornado!”

Everyone was startled and looked around. She escaped. Well by now, the blond had it all figured out. They brought her forward and the executioner asked if she had any last requests. She said no and the executioner shouted.. Ready.. Aim..!! And the blond yelled, “Fire!!”

DONATIONS RECEIVED WITH THANKS

Many thanks to Agnes Waldie from Darnick for a recent donation she presented to the group, after she held an afternoon tea.

She split the money raised between her local branch and research.

Over the years Agnes has held many events and been on many walks raising funds for Parkinson.

I would just like to thank her again on behalf of all the members for all her hard work.

BOGIE CLOSE STOMPERS NEWS

INFORMATION DAY

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

In conjunction wi those Bogie Close Stompers, we are planning another fish supper night in St. Boswells. This gig, night oot, is hopefully going to be planned for august. Unfortunately we cannae get everything confirmed in time for this newsletter.

The only way we can think of doing this, is if you would like to go to see the stompers in august, if you get your details an a return phone number to Gary. When dates are finalised Gary can get back in touch with you.  We have got funding for this night so we can help with transport if you require it.

For those newbie’s to the group, the stompers are a guid auld fashioned skiffle group from Selkirk. Ask anyone who saw them over the last couple years, an I’m sure they’ll tell you whit a grand night it is.

Get in touch in advance please; contact Gary by the usual methods.

Parkinson’s Scotland are organising an information day for Wednesday 3rd September. In the past this event had been held in Kelso for the last 2 years. With the venue being very difficult to get to, they decided this year to move it to the Kingsknow Hotel, Galashiels. There is plenty of parking and a lunch is provided.  The day runs from 11 – 3. See press nearer time for more details.

The sponsored walk Parkinson’s Scotland had organised for Traquair in June was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of numbers.
