Hello to you all, here is a newsletter an a half for you. Unfortunately we were unable to send last month’s newsletter to your doors, due to illness in our production team! I am pleased to say Jennifer an Mary are on the mend an rarin tae go!! This month’s newsletter is very busy there is no idle chit chat, all articles will be short and sweet but some do need yer instant attention, as time is running out on a couple of them and we do require you to act promptly if you can. So welcome tae yer monthly newsletter.  An welcome back tae fitness Jennifer an Mary aka the Broons!! (Oa Innerleithen no Glebe Street!!!)

Gordon Smith a supporter of our group furra number oa years now, has organised a bust trip tae the Kelpies, up Falkirk way. A few years ago some oa ye might remember Gordon an a couple oa his colleagues took us to the Falkirk wheel. Well Gordon has been fund-raising again, this time to take us on a trip to the the Kelpies, then onto a Sunday lunch booked for around 1.30-2.00, at the Inchyra Grange Hotel in Falkirk, then back hame. The coach has been donated for free by Austin Travel. This trip is organised for Sunday 29th march pick up points will be Hawick Selkirk An Gala. All costs are covered, so the trip is free oa charge. Gary was recently invited down to Netherdale home oa Gala fitba’ by Raymond Hume a referee from Gala to receive a cheque for just under £800 for the group. This was raised from a charity match between Gala Hotspur an Gala Rovers for the Hume Trophy. Older members may recognise the name as Raymond’s mother and father Margaret And Ian who has sadly passed away ………regularly attended our meetings. We would like to thank Raymond and all who helped with the event and for the cheque which totalled an amazing £771.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STOMPERS NIGHT

 

AWARENESS WEEK 2015

 

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

We have managed to secure a date for a night with the Stompers in the Salmon Room at the Buccleuch Arms, St Boswells. This evening of entertainment will be held on Tuesday 14th April 6.30 to 8’ish. The evening will kick –off at 6.30 with fish an chips all round, followed by music from the Bogie Close Stompers, a skiffle band from Selkirk. The bar will be open. If required the group can try and help out transport wise if you might need assistance to get to and from the venue. Costs for this event has been covered although a donation bucket will be there for donations if you wish, to book a fish supper get in touch with Gary on 01750 22588, 07906 527 682, or email garyhattie@btinternet.com .

This year awareness week will be Monday 20th April to Saturday 25th April. We have booked to have our information table from Monday to Thursday at the BGH with the intention of selling home baking as well.  All home baking needs to be in sealed bag if you can help at all by doing home baking call Margaret Sheill on 01750 21460 or if you can assist the group by sitting at the table providing info on the group an selling the baking please contact Gary on 01750 22588, 07906 527 682, or email garyhattie@btinternet.com .

Time will be 10 – 4 each day with hopefully volunteers in 2 x 3 hour shifts. (to avoid 4 hour car park limit?) See list below.  Please help out by giving up 3 hours of your time if you can:

Tuesday 10 – 1 required /1 – 4 required

Wednesday 10 – 1 required /1 – 4 required
