MONDAY MEETING

 FOR MAY

HAWICK MEETING SURPRISE!!!

We’re the Parkinson’s support and research charity. Help us find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

This month’s meeting will take place on Monday 25th May in the Chaplaincy Centre 2-4. This month Wendy Taylor returns with her singing wi Parkinson’s’. A meeting highly recommended not to be missed. Also Lesley will doing Indian heed massages while she sings-along-wi’-Wendy.

Jill Anderson oor Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist will be in attendance.

Last month we were treated to exercise in the company of Denise Carmichael from ‘Fit-Borders.’ Thank you to everyone who came along on the day the turnout was tremendous, an am sure Denise enjoyed her visit.

Everyone is welcome to come along and join Wendy, Lesley an Jill, an there’s the added incentive oa having a cuppa ana chat too.

There was a humungous surprise for everyone attending the meeting last month at the hame oa Hawick Knitwear oor hosts since the start oa the year!!  As the meeting started the door opened and 2 of the staff arrived an told us that they had decided to hold an Easter fund-raiser consisting of a raffle, a treasure hunt, and they had volunteers who knitted Easter chicks, they raised an amazing £600. They split this 3 ways the beneficiaries being MS Borders, MacMillan Nurses, an ourselves.

Attendees at the Hawick Meeting receive a £200 cheque from staff at Hawick Knitwear

We are very fortunate to have the support of this local company and all their staff, an thank them very much for the cheque totalling £200!!

‘Parky the BEAR’

Recently Parky Bear has been doing the rounds in Gary’s boot, attending meetings inviting people to guess his date of birth for 50p a shot. The bear has been donated by Erin granddaughter of Angus an Margaret McKay of Selkirk. Erin had been given the bear (a build a bear), for her birthday and wanting to raise some money for her grandfather who has Parkinson’s, donated it to the group to raise funds with. Erin will release Parky’s DOB next month.

Bet her Gran an Papa are proud as owt!!
