Hi everyone it’s nice to be back, or is it nice tae see ya tae
see ya nice! So who is that catch phrase associated with?
I can tell you the questions in this month’s quiz, will nae be
as easy as that at oor Monday meeting on 26th
October. You could
feel the excitement around the room at the September meeting as
the October quiz gets nearer, the reason? It will be the first
time the,
‘Gordon Melrose Parky
Brain oa the Borders Cup’
Will be won, do you think your team could be holding the new cup
aloft, (I’m no sure if that’s a word, aloft I hope it is, an if
it is I hope it means holding the new cup above yer heed! Maybe
I should have wrote means holding the new cup above yer heed! In
the first place! Instead of aloft) at the October meeting!
Well last month’s winner of the ‘spot the deliberate mistake’
competition goes to Gordon Allan of Galashiels who spotted the
deliberate mistake in the pantomime article, the panto is
actually on Wednesday 2nd December, an not Tuesday 2nd
December. Well done to Gordon who wins …………… absolutely nothing!
If you would like the chance to win absolutely nothing, all you
hae tae do is see if you can spot the deliberate mistake in yer
October newsletter, it’s as easy as that, but check carefully
coz sometimes we put in mair than one deliberate mistake in!!
Enjoy!

This month’s meeting will be held on Monday 26th
October 2-4 in the Chaplaincy Centre at the Borders General
Hospital. This
month as if you didnae ken the ‘Gordon
Melrose Parky Brain Oa The Borders Cup’ will be up for
grabs. So mark it in yer diaries an make yer way down to the
Chaplaincy Centre you never ken it could be your name on the
cup.
September saw just under 30 folk attend the return of Wendy
Taylor an her sing-a-long. A tremendous turn out thank you to
everyone for coming along!!
It was noticed that Lesley Graham oor resident Indian heed
massager wasnae present.
Unfortunately Lesley has got other commitments on a
Monday and has had to stop visiting us. Lesley has been with us
for just over 6 years, and in that time has got to ken a lot of
the group pretty well. We would like to thank Lesley very much
for putting up wi’ us fur so long, you’ll be missed Lesley!!

We would like everyone to know that Dave Brydon is stepping down as
Treasurer of the Group.
When Tony retired we were struggling to get a replacement when Dave
stepped forward, we would like to thank him very much for helping
out the group in oor hour of need!

Just wanted to share this with everybody.
At a recent meeting oa yer groups committee we were
discussing projects we could in the future, along the lines of maybe
some alternative treatments. Well someone mentioned about trying
Reiki sessions.
Well one of yer committee members (whose name will remain a closely
guarded secret). Was sitting looking puzzled at this idea? Well he,
jings nearly told you his name there, oops or hers!! When asked why
the puzzled look he said or she said in a Gala accent or wis it
Hawick accent:-
‘I’m no too convinced the benefits Parky’s will get from attending
reggae sessions?!?’
With that in mind, details oa the first meeting oa the Parkinson’s
UK Borders Branch Bob Marley Appreciation Society will be announced
soon!!
Q – What kind of doughnuts does Bob Marley like?
